About the Author

Jaroslav Balek is an economist, historian, and writer from Prague, Czech Republic. He spent decades studying the world through economics and history, even authoring academic works on hydrology and water resources. But his true passion has always been storytelling.

With a sharp eye for the absurd and a warm, self-deprecating wit, he writes stories that capture the awkwardness, hope, and quiet desperation of human connection. His work blends satire, social insight, and a deep understanding of relationships.

Now retired from academia, he lives in the Czech Republic and writes stories that make readers laugh, think, and feel less alone.

Most of my books are available in regular bookstores such as Luxor and Dobrovský, as well as on sales platforms like Heureka.
